CADL Cares

CADL is an active member of our community, supporting charities and service organizations.

Capital Area Literacy Coalition

Each month, CADL staff is invited to participate in Dress Down for Charity Fridays. For $1, staff can wear casual attire for a good cause. All proceeds earned will go to the Capital Area Literacy Coalition. See how you can help here.

Operation Backpack

Since 2004, Operation Backpack has been helping to send children in-need back to school equipped with the necessary supplies to learn including a library card. Each year, CADL and other community partners assist St. Vincent Catholic Charities with collecting 1,000 backpacks.

Helping Women Period

You can make a difference for women who are homeless and/or low income in the Lansing area. During select donation times, you can donate personal hygiene products for women in need who live without these critical resources.

Volunteers of America

We are proud to partner with Volunteers of America to provide personal care items for homeless veterans in our area. Patrons may bring personal products like shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes and soap to select branches during donation periods.

Libraries for Life

About 3,000 people in Michigan are waiting for a transplant and new hope for life. Probably someone you know has been or will be impacted by the need for an organ. Annually at the library, we hold organ registry sign-up days at many of our branches.

Community Events

In addition to our donation efforts, CADL staff participate in community events that help the environment, create awareness and give back to our communities. You can find CADL employees at events like Recycle Rama and Capital City River Run.
